Building Success in Swindon
Sepetember 2005
Kellaway Building Supplies in Swindon has undergone a number of changes of late, all aimed at improving the service for its customers, including the appointment of two new key members of staff.
The company is one of the largest independent builders merchants in the West and, in addition to Swindon, has a branch near Stroud and five in Bristol, supplying both professional tradesmen and DIY customers
Recently appointed Manager to its branch in Bramble Close, Gary Mitchell, explains: “Kellaway Building Supplies has been trading in Swindon since they acquired Harveys Sand and Gravel two years ago. Since then the business has grown and flourished, and we have just had our best months ever.”
Gary has worked for a number of building supplies companies in the area over the years including Buildbase and Travis Perkins, and brings with him a wealth of experience.
Having listened to what his customers require, Gary has re-vamped the range of products stocked at the branch. “In addition to general building supplies such as bricks, blocks, plasterboard, paint, tools and insulation, we now carry heavyside building materials with a full range of timber coming soon. We’ve also made changes to our shop to incorporate a more friendly sales office environment.”
The final piece in the jigsaw is the appointment of Dave Stratford as Sales Representative. Dave is well known to builders in the area, having worked for Travis Perkins and Buildbase, and his main role will be to support both existing and new business customers. Dave welcomes any potential customers to contact him on 01793 643744.
Julian Milligan, Managing Director, said that he was delighted that the company had been joined by two people who brought with them such a wealth of local knowledge and expertise. “Kellaway Building Supplies is an independent family firm that prides itself on its reputation for competitive pricing and friendly service, a combination which national chains are hard pressed to match. We know our customers in Bristol and Gloucestershire appreciate this, and I’m sure this level of service is going to be equally important for our new and existing customers in Swindon.”
“Everyone’s welcome!” adds Gary. “Come and meet the team!”
