Casual / Temporary General Assistant – Wincanton

This is a casual / temporary position with the potential to become a permanent addition to the team.

Pay £11.44 per hour

Hours worked between:

• Monday - Friday 7:30am and 5:00pm
• Saturdays every other 8:00am to 12:00noon

Main purpose of job:

• to maximise branch performance by increasing turnover and margin through sales and related stock management.
• To ensure that the branch delivers excellent customer service

Main requirements of job:

• Customer service skills essential
• Organisation and communication skills
• Knowledge of building products desirable
• Literacy / Numeracy skills
• Counterbalance forklift certificate preferred, although training can be provided

Main tasks of the job:

• Serve customers quickly and efficiently, ensuring paperwork is completed fully and correctly
• Assisting customers with queries
• Building business relationships with key customers
• Handing customers’ payments
• Quotations and pricing
• Taking and processing customers telephoned orders
• Picking orders and loading company vehicles ready for delivery
• Loading and unloading supplier vehicles
• Moving and arranging stock both manually and using mechanical lifting equipment
• Merchandising: stock displays, etc.
• Assist with yard merchandising
