Fuel Surcharge
Fuel surcharge reintroduced
We are reintroducing our delivery fuel surcharge of £1.50 per delivery from 1 October 2009 for ALL account customers.
This is due to fuel prices increasing again, with diesel now costing above £1.00 per litre. We have attempted to keep the surcharge costs to a minimum and will continue to monitor the movements of fuel prices on a quarterly basis and will also ensure the charges introduced reflect the fuel prices at the time of introduction. The fuel surcharge will be shown as a separate line on all orders as previously.
You may remember we first introduced a £3.00 fuel surcharge for all our account customers in September 2008. This was reduced to £1.50 in November 2008 and removed completely in January 2009 when fuel prices dipped.
We run a modern, efficient delivery fleet and pride ourselves on the service we provide to you, the customer. We invest in training for our drivers to ensure safe working practices and compliance with transport and HSE laws. We are also working with our suppliers to ensure we are delivering you best value in addition to improved efficiency measures amongst our teams.
I would like to thank you for your continued business and trust that our delivery service will continue to meet the high standards our customers rightly expect. We feel this measure will help us to support you in maintaining our excellent service whilst remaining competitive.
