Kellaway Building Supplies has opened the doors to its brand new branch in Swindon.
The acre plus site at Kembrey Park represents a new era for the South West based merchant, as it is the first newly built branch of its kind for the company.
“We’ve been trading in Swindon since 2003, and the business has just continued to grow”, explains Managing Director Julian Milligan. “We needed a site which reflects our new found level of business, allowing us to expand in the future. This gives our customers exactly what they want, from a well stocked shop, warehouse and yard through to a robust delivery service.”
Even though the credit crunch hasn’t been without impact on the business, the company still invested in the development. Trading since 1982, Kellaway has transformed over the last decade growing from just one branch to eight.
Boasting a 17,000 ft2 warehouse, and 3,000 ft2 shop area, the branch offers everything for the builder and also includes a far superior product offering for the home improvement market.
“By continuing with this development at a time when other companies might have held back, puts us in a fantastic position as the country pulls itself out of recession. We now have the means to take further advantage of opportunities in the local market”, adds Julian.
The whole project has been a particularly exciting for the 14 strong Swindon team who are looking forward to the future.
