2005

Over Easter, Kellaway launched a specialised landscaping display area at the Horfield branch acting as a showpiece for their Bristol branches. With help and advice & planning available, customers can view how products will look in their garden.

The Yate branch opened in September 2005 to serve the areas of north Bristol and South Gloucestershire, completing operational coverage between Bristol and Stroud.

That September, Kellaway announce record year on year growth.

In November, the company appointed a Customer Service Supervisor to help maintain the dedicated level of customer service they provide.

2006

Kellaway receives a certificate of achievement for their commitment to a high standard of personnel practice. The Gold Award, which was made by Peninsula Business Services, recognises the excellent manner in which staff issues and welfare are handled by the family-run company.

 

November rounded off a very successful trading year, as Kellaway won “Best Customer Service by a Builders’ Merchant” and were runners up in the category for “Best Training Initiative by a Builders’ Merchant” at the 2006 Builders’ Merchants Awards for Excellence 2006.

2007

Kellaway made another acquisition in June in Nailsea. This branch had been a local independent builders’ merchant trading since 1980. Kellaway developed and improved its service and offer to the customer by relocating the business in 2006 to the current site.

Kellaway Building Supplies formally celebrated its 25th anniversary in August, with a Casino evening for a mixture of staff, customers and suppliers, where the Directors marked the occasion with a huge “Kellaway Cake”, and an address by founder Ernest Milligan and current Managing Director, Julian Milligan.

2007

In December, Kellaway were runner up at the National Builders Merchants Awards for Excellence for Best Customer Service by a Builder’s Merchant.

2008

Admin Supportwere relocated to new Group Head Office at Patchway Trading Estate, Cribbs Causeway, Bristol to facilitate further growth and support for the business.

Kellaway formally launched a product training area at the Ashton branch, with hands on build construction sections – plumbing and drainage, plasterboard and dry lining solutions, roofing, guttering and fascia, plus a merchandising area.

In December, Kellaway rounded off the year by winning the 2008 Builders Merchant Awards with “Best Customer Service” and “Best Training Initiative”.
