About the Role:

As a Trainee Sales Representative, you’ll learn the ropes of the trade, develop strong product knowledge, and build lasting relationships with our customers. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone looking to kick-start a career in sales within the building materials industry.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Learning to achieve sales targets and deliver excellent customer service
  • Learn to identify customer needs and participate in regular sales follow-ups to understand the full sales cycle
  • Gain confidence in closing sales and maintaining customer relationships
  • Work alongside the team to handle customer queries or complaints, learning how to resolve issues professionally
  • Learn the account credit management process, including managing account applications and ensuring timely payments
  • Develop core sales and negotiation skills under the mentorship of experienced team members
  • Participate in identifying new customer opportunities and understand strategies for business development
  • Learn how to research and evaluate market opportunities with the support of your team
  • Gain skills in administration and management of full sales cycle

  • Full UK driving licence

Your Role:

  • Meet and exceed financial targets by maximising sales and margin
  • Provide outstanding customer service to ensure high levels of satisfaction
  • Close sales and build strong business relationships with customers
  • Liaise with suppliers and branches for special order sales
  • Work with credit control to manage accounts effectively
  • Expand the customer base by identifying and securing new customers
  • Identify new business opportunities by reviewing market and branch opportunities
  • Engage in cold calling, both in person and by phone, to generate new business
